MR:2-06 Men in Black

     I spent much of times to understand this story. At the first scene, K uses the stick which is able to delete short memories, but I couldn’t understand what happened in the scene. At the next scene, the man who escapes from Edwards changes his eyes. Then, an UFO crashes on a truck in a farm and the farmer becomes violent. I could understand these happenings involve aliens from the space in this scene.                

 

    In the next scene, strange events continue. Edwards is invited to MiB by K. He goes to MiB, but it wasn’t announced that there was the test. The test seems to be normal for an investigation company. The applicants are normal, too. However, when Edward passes the test, and enters the office, he knows what the company is. Then, I understand the object of this story. There are a lot of aliens, and they work with humans! I think the prelude of this story is long, but it is good because I felt anxious and interested until I knew the identity of K.

  

    This movie seems like a suspense movie, but this movie has SF and comedy. I had thought this story is difficult, but in fact, this is not so. The interesting scenes for me are the scene that Edward and K meet aliens, because the alien are so cute except Bug. They look like humans or animals. If this story is real, these happenings are so scare, but the aliens are small and cute. In spite of the tense scenes, I didn’t think about it. I liked the alien who looks like a pug.  

 

    What is unexpected for me is there are not many scenes for the hero of this movie, Edward plays the role as hero. I think K is cooler than Edward. I expect that Edward plays cool activities in the next series which K retired MiB. In the last scene, Edward delates K’s memories of MiB, and K comes to live with his wife. This scene is my most favorite scene in this movie. Edward in this scene is so cool.

MR2:05 Romeo and Juliet

I had known the original story of Romeo and Juliet. I like the works of William Shakespeare, especially, I like this work. I think Romeo and Juliet is popular among girls. I recently watched a music video, and the setting of Romeo and Juliet was used. The hero and heroine was born in the exalted families, and fall in love each other, but it is a forbidden love. Then, they die together unfortunately. It’s a romantic and tragic story. This story is loved by a lot of girls around the world throughout the eras.

 

I had never watched the new one. I had thought I want to watch this movie. I like Leonardo DiCaprio, too. I had an image that he plays romantic characters, so I had thought this movie is so romantic. In fact, this movie is indeed one of the romantic stories, but is different from the one which I had imagined. Their families are on bad teams. It is the same as the original story. However, the fighting people are not their parents but their minion gangs, and they fight with violence. It is not romantic. The era and country are also different. I think it is good. There is a Brazilian Town, a beach, and their house. They are so beautiful. Their forbidden and romantic story is also good. My most favorite scene is the scene of their first meeting at the party. It is like the scenes of Titanic.

 

This story looks to be finished with tragedy, but I don’t think so. I lost romantic feelings to this story from a scene. It is the scene where Romeo kills Juliet’s cousin, Tibalt. Romeo tries to get along with Tibalt because Romeo wants to be get along with Juliet’s family. However, Tibalt kills Romeo’s minion and friend, Mercutio, so Romeo kills Tibalt from his rebellious feeling. After Romeo kills Tibalt, he is worried, but he goes Juliet’s house, and enjoy their time. I felt it is bad. I thought he is not a cool hero. At the end, they die the same as the original story. In the original story, I like this tragic scene, and feel sad for them, but I wasn’t impressed so much. I like the original story better than this story.

MR2:04 School of Rock

      I hadn’t known this movie before I watched it, but I was so interested in it, because the genre of this movie is comedy. I like comedy the best of all genres of movies. Furthermore, I like music, too.  
     
     I heard the title of this movie, I expected a story of a club at a high school. When the hero of this movie, Dewey, misses his rock band, I expected that he was going to teach rock in a school. However, when Dewey enters the classroom which he was assigned to, there are elementary school students, I was surprised by this. I couldn’t imagine that the little children play rock like Dewey’s band. 
      
      Another thing I was surprised at is that the children are real musicians, so they play the music for real. The children in this movie are so obedient. No matter what Dewey orders, they accept. Dewey is a crazy man, so he was abandoned by his band. However, the children follow him, nevertheless they are hardworking students of the most intelligent elementary school in the state. The scene where I most admired them is when they go to pick him up at his house for going the band battle after it came out that he is not a teacher, and he left the school. They had told a lie that he is a great teacher, but they wanted to play the rock with him after they knew that he was not a teacher. This scene is such a touching scene.
       
  In addition to the children, I have another favorite character. It’s Rosalie who is the principal of the school. I thought she is a serious, strong, strict person. However, I knew her real personality in the scene where Dewey takes her to a pub, and he turns on the rock music. She is such a funny person.
      
  In the climax scene the children and Dewey play the music on the band battle, everyone in the hall include their parents who objected to Dewey’s idea of music education enjoyed the rock concert. This movie tells us that people become one through the music as Dewey taught the children. This is a wonderful movie!

MR2:03 Rocky

    I watched this movie for the first time. I always listened this theme song at cleaning time in junior high school. I was a member of the club that turned on the music, and I was interested where the powerful music came from. I looked at the jacket of the CD, but I didn't become interested in that so much, because I didn't like fighting like boxing.

   Later, I knew that the movie was very famous around in the world. Actually, I didn't think the fighting movie was interesting before I watched this. I regret that I didn't watch this movie earlier now. The reason why I think so is that this is not only fighting movie but also a romance movie. Women are able to enjoy this movie.
    I like Rocky's character. Of course, he sometimes becomes rough, because he is a boxer. However, his belief is strong and straight at both of his training and his love. He started his hard training from the day when he would decide to fight with Apollo, who is the world champion. When he approaches Adrian, he continues to talk to her, in spite of her neglect. He never gives up these things he decided no matter what the people around him say. Furthermore, he considered the children around him and his pet. He is such a kind person.
  
I was so surprised that Sylvester Stallone who is the hero also wrote this scenario. At the interview, he said that this movie was made at a low cost, with few cast, and with the first cut scenes. When I was watching this movie, I thought that it is difficult for Sylvester to play the character desired by the director and create the muscular body. I think the story became real because he made this as a desired of his. I surprised the deployment of this story, too. I expected that Rocky will absolutely win the match at the end of this story and answer the interview snappily, but actually he lost and he show his weakness by calling his girlfriend's name. I guessed he wanted to tell us that the efforts was more important than  the consequences.

   The words I was mostly in sympathy with are when Adrian asked Rocky " Why do you fight?". I  was also wondering it. He said he can only use his power because his brain is weak. She also says she can only use her brain because her body is weak. At the after interview, he said that people are not able to live alone, people live together compensating for each other's weaknesses. I understood the reason men fight, and I was impressed the by his words.

MR2:02 Mission Impossible

The first impression of this movie is tense, mysterious, and nervous. The title and the main theme song me give such impressions. I have played the song in brass band when I was a high school student, but I had never seen this movie, so I had been thinking that I want to watch this since that time. 

I' m not good at concentrating on a suspense movie, so I rarely watch them. However this movie is so interesting, so I could concentrate to watch it. I was surprised many times at the scenes where the deployment of the story changes. For example, heard that there is a traitor in his team, the file which he wants is fake, and the criminal is a man I couldn't anticipate. 

The most impressive scene for me is when Ethan and his members invade a security room of the CIA, and try to gain the real file. There are a lot of high sensitive sensors for security in the room. It is called the artistic room. However, he stops the infrared sensors, enters from the ceiling with a rope, and they are just able to get the file they want. There is almost no sound in the scene, so this is the tensest scene in this movie. 

The most favorite thing in this movie is that the place is Europe, because I like beautiful cityscapes of Europe. The first mission is taken at a party venue in Prague. It's so elegant, peaceful, and beautiful. It's also a surprise that serial murder happens in such place. I like the scene where Ethan tries to catch Jim too. It is the most coolest scene for Ethan. He catches him on the TVQ for London. It is so windy, dangerous, and unbelievable. The landscapes are so beautiful. A lot of beautiful places are used in this movie. I think it supports the mysterious atmosphere.

MR2:01 Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Before I watched this movie, I only had heard this name "Indiana Jones". I thought this movie was made about ten years ago. However, I found the image is old when I began to watch this work, then I understood this was made in 1981. It's such an old movie. I think that I feel this work is not old because everyone is familiar with it these days. Especially, the music which is used in this work is famous even recently, so everyone have heard this theme at least once. This music is composed by John Williams who is a famous composer of movie music of the U.S.. I like his works so I felt a sense of intimacy to this work nevertheless I had never watched it even though I knew the effect of his famous music. 

I like hero movies and love stories so I like the scenes where Indiana Jones rescues Marion while fighting their enemies. In this movie, there are a lot of scenes where Indie is involved in some event, but he overcomes the challenges by using not only his power but also his brain because he is an archaeologist and a university professor. He is so cool in this movie. 

I like Marion too. She is the heroine of this movie. Usually, the heroine of most movies are girly, but Marion is boyish. In her first appearance in the movie, she is involved in a drinking game with a man at her pub. In the scenes where Indie fights, she cooperates with him. She is such a cool heroine. I think this story is different from other hero movies. There are a lot of fighting scenes. Indie and Marion meet some of their enemy. It seems that Indie is a hero of justice. Certainly, the scenes where Indie rescues Marion and fights are so cool, but he fights not only for justice but to rescue Marion and to get the treasure, so the attention of this movie is not justice defeats evil or not but who get the treasure.
